Martha's Vineyard, fall desserts and "local"
Last week I spent some time on the island of Martha's Vineyard. I was born on this magical island and it will forever be home to me. The sense of community and wellness is overwhelming (in the best way). There are farms all over the island and since it's fall...they were overflowing with fruits and veggies.
With fall underway and winter nearly upon us, it is so important to take care of ourselves! This dessert, caramel spice pear cream cake, is made of all local ingredients. Eating local, means eating seasonally. If we eat seasonally allergies may subside, we can strengthen our immune system and digestive system (just to name a few). Maybe it was the island air but the pears I used were fit for gods :)
